Emerald Green http://ping.fm/2vNk2

Emerald Green

Emerald Green continues to be one of the hottest colors of 2011. Emerald green will bring a rich, deep tone to any room, at any time of the year. It’s especially welcome in winter in the harsher climates when there isn’t much natural green available outside.

Emerald green is often used in hand-blown glass, and for just a spot of color, an emerald green glass vase or bowl will brighten a table or sidebar. Emerald green is particularly nice in a vase, as it provides a natural echo to the color of the stems of the flowers you have submerged. For a holiday table, a wreath of emerald green leaves – real or faux – makes a nice centerpiece; but on any table, an emerald green bowl or vase will bring in a note of the outdoors in a way that’s rich and sophisticated.

The only caution about using emerald green is to not overdo it. Remember that this color tends to be dark, so you want to be careful if you’re thinking of using it for the walls of a room or for big pieces of furniture. Does this mean there’s no place for that emerald green sofa you’ve just fallen in love with? No, of course not. It just means that you may want to paint the walls of that room in a pale yellow, or a paler yet similar shade of green, or an off-white that will play well with the green.

Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos with Lime-Cilantro Dressing http://ping.fm/mafYB

Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos with Lime-Cilantro Dressing

Baked Creamy Chicken Taquitos

1/3 C (3 oz) cream cheese
1/4 C green salsa
1T fresh lime juice
1/2 t cumin
1 t chili powder
1/2 t onion powder
1/4 t granulated garlic
3 T chopped cilantro
2 T sliced green onions
2 C shredded cooked chicken
1 C grated pepperjack cheese
small corn tortillas
kosher salt
cooking spray

Heat oven to 425. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.

Heat cream cheese in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds so it's soft and easy to stir. Add green salsa, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, onion powder and granulated garlic. Stir to combine and then add cilantro and green onions. Add chicken and cheese and combine well.

You can prepare up to this step ahead of time. Just keep the mixture in the fridge.

Work with a few tortillas at a time and heat in the microwave until they are soft enough to roll without cracking. It helps to place them between damp paper towels. Usually 20-30 seconds will do it. If you find yours are cracking when you roll them or come unrolled right away, just try heating them longer and try the paper towel thing.

Place 2-3 T of chicken mixture on the lower third of a tortilla, keeping it about 1/2 inch from the edges.

Then roll it up as tight as you can.

Place seam side down on the baking sheet. Lay all of the taquitos on the baking sheet and make sure they are not touching each other. Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray or an oil mister and sprinkle some kosher salt on top.

Place pan in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until crisp and the ends start to get golden brown.

Dip 'em in salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or Creamy Lime-Cilantro Dressing

Creamy Lime-Cilantro Dressing

1 pack (1oz) Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix (regular or buttermilk, and ignore directions on the packet)
1C mayo
1/2 C milk (or buttermilk depending on which packet you buy)
1 lime
2 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1/2 C roughly chopped cilantro
1/4 C green salsa*
hot sauce

Place milk, mayo, and ranch mix in a blender. Juice the lime in there too, you should get about 2T juice. Toss in the garlic, cilantro and green salsa. Blend 'er up. Sample it and add hot sauce to taste. Make it several hours ahead of time to allow it to thicken.

RBI Spring Event May 12th

Treasures in the Attic:

Philanthropy on the Patio

outdoor furniture
Wondering what to do with that great piece of art inherited from Grandma? Has your style changed from traditional to transitional and now your fabulous art no longer fits in? Now is your chance to clear out your attic, basement, and guest room or storage unit - all for a cause YOU have a passion for.
Join Robin Bond Interiors and Exteriors Showroom as we partner with Gone for Good to take your treasures that you no longer have a use for to benefit charity. Gone for Good accepts gently used art, home accessories and small furnishings. They then evaluate the worth, sell the item and donate the proceeds (less a small handling fee) to the charity of YOUR CHOICE. Better yet, when the check is sent with a letter to the charity of YOUR CHOICE, it will be sent in your name.
Your items will be enthusiastically marketed for a reasonable period. Those not sold will be donated to either Goodwill Industries or the Settlement Home. Whether turned into dollars or donated to another organization, all donations are "gone to DO good". So look around your house, bring a treasure and join us as we network with others in the community and do some good.
This event will be held at the beautiful Exteriors Showroom, which is an outdoor furniture showroom to The Trade. May is a perfect time to hear about what is new with exterior furnishings and learn a thing or two. Karla Urbina with Exteriors Showroom will speak.
Let's see how many different charities we can benefit through this event. After the event we will release a list of all of the different charities you selected to benefit. Please come with a generous spirit and donate more than one item if you have it.
Wine and appetizers will be provided. Door prizes and drawings throughout the evening including a chance to win 2 hours of professional organization assistance by Paula Dreyer with Organizing A to Z.

Take the Gone For Good challenge. Identify those treasures in your home (small furnishings, art, jewelry, crafts) that you no longer love. Donate them to Gone For Good and take a tax deduction. Gone For Good will sell them and donate the proceeds to the charity of your choice.
Gail Miller ad Retta Van Auken founded Gone For Good because of their desire to encourage and facilitate philanthropy. They, along with the Gone For Good volunteers, represent more than 100 years of combined service to non-profit communities in Central Texas.

Make Mine a Million Dollar Business

I was in Denver on Monday pitching our business to be a $1,000,000 business at the M3 event. I am heading back to Austin on a plane today. More photos will follow on Thursday.
Count Me In presents M3 1000. We’ve taken the best of the energy and excitement of the Make Mine a Million $ Business (M3) events from the past five years and created an exciting new format that gives more women than ever the tools they need to hit that million $ mark.

M3 1000 gives more women than ever before access to that the first step in the transformation from just being in business to taking control and charting a course for maximum success. Our ultimate goal is to get 1000 women business owners to the million $ mark.
